Fourty percent of the total drag on a Formula 1 car comes from the wheels. Wheels have an influence on the aerodynamics of the car as a whole, the front and rear wings, the under-body and the diffuser. The wheels are a source of noise above 40 miles per hour and they are the dominant source of road vehicles.
