18,000–21,000 HKD/month (negotiable).
Several Research Assistant (RA) positions are available at the Aerodynamics Acoustics and Noise control Technology Centre (AANTC), HKUST. These roles offer a unique opportunity to advance aerospace engineering through innovative projects in aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, aircraft structural design, and flight control systems. Successful candidates will contribute to multi-year research initiatives, working with state-of-the-art facilities, including wind tunnels, 3D printing labs, and flight simulators. The research focuses on developing noise mapping software, optimizing 3D-printed aircraft structures, and enhancing flight control systems for precision navigation. Opportunities for PhD/MPhil studies may be available.
Key responsibilities can be in one or more fields below:
✅ Aircraft Structural Design and 3D Printing Manufacturing
✅ Flight Control System Design and Optimization
✅ Noise Mapping and Visualization Software Development
Requirements
Key requirements include (but are not necessarily mandatory):
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA), FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS), or programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB).
• Experience in aeroacoustics, CFD, 3D printing, or flight control systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, sensor integration, or computer graphics (e.g., OpenGL, VTK) is desirable.
• Strong skills in data analysis, experimental techniques, or software development.
• Experience in engineering competitions (e.g., SAE Aero Design, UAV challenges) is highly desirable.
• Technical report writing in English.
• Fluency in English (required) and Mandarin (desirable).
