Mr. Wei Yi is a PhD candidate of the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He joined the HKUST in 2018. He obtained his bachelor's degree of theoretical and applied mechanics from Northwestern Polytechnical University (China) in 2010. In the same year, he entered ARI (Aerodynamics Research Institute) of AVIC (China) and the main research area is propeller design and research, wind tunnel design and experiment. He served as the director of the Wind Tunnel System Technology Office and the director of System and Aerodynamic Technology Office of ARI. He was in charge and involved in a series of scientific research or engineering projects, including national research projects, the AVIC's innovation fund, national technical reform projects, etc. Involving a total investment of hundreds of millions. He won the title of outstanding individual/outstanding contribution/advanced model five times in more than seven years of work, two of which are first prizes of Institute -level scientific and technological achievements, and became the only one who was accelerable promoted to be an engineer in Harbin branch institute in 2014. He is "Excellent youth expert in Harbin" and "Young professionals in central enterprises of China".
